How it works

What engine mounts do — and when they need replacing

Engine mounts secure the engine to the vehicle while absorbing vibration and controlling movement. As they wear, you'll often notice more vibration through the cabin, engine movement under load, or a clunk when taking off or changing gear.

Like many rubber components, engine mounts wear with age and kilometres. Rubber can crack or soften, while hydraulic mounts can eventually leak and lose their ability to control movement. They're also often picked up while other work is being done on the vehicle.

For resellers, that makes range and availability important. When a workshop needs a mount, they generally need it now.

Trade tip: check the set

When one mount has failed, it's worth checking the others for cracking, deterioration or excessive movement. Another worn mount can place additional load on the new one and may mean the vehicle is back sooner than it needs to be.

Signs of a worn mount

  • A clunk on take-off or gear change
  • Extra vibration through the cabin at idle
  • Visible engine movement when you blip the throttle
  • Knocks or shudders that get worse under load

These symptoms can point to a worn mount, but the vehicle should always be properly inspected to confirm the cause.

Vulcanised, not glued.

The rubber is bonded to the metal under heat and pressure, creating a strong, lasting bond designed to handle the constant movement and load of the engine.

About our engine mounts

We've built one of Australia's largest engine mount ranges, covering everything from the common movers to the harder-to-find applications. And we're constantly adding to it as new opportunities and gaps in the market emerge.

The range covers passenger vehicles, SUVs, 4WDs and light commercials, with conventional, hydraulic and other OE-style designs to match the vehicle's original fitment.

Built to match the original

An engine mount needs to do more than simply bolt into place. Its design, rubber characteristics and construction all affect how the engine moves and how much vibration reaches the vehicle.

That's why our mounts are selected to match the original design and fitment of the vehicle. Where the original uses a conventional rubber mount, hydraulic mount or more complex design, the replacement needs to do the same job.

It's about getting the fit and function right, so the workshop can install it with confidence and your customer gets the part they expected.

Our range

Inside the engine-mount range

A wide range only matters if the parts are there when your customer needs them. Our engine mount range covers around 88% of vehicles on Australian roads, with 98%+ of the range in stock and ready to go.

Coverage and application data measured using AutoInfo, June 2026. Range continues to grow.

From passenger cars and SUVs to 4WDs and light commercials, the range covers the everyday makes as well as the ones that can be harder to find. That includes newer brands such as GWM, MG and Haval, along with older marques like Saab and Proton where parts are becoming harder to source.

It's a range we keep working on. We look at what's on Australian roads, listen to what our resellers are asking for and keep adding the gaps.
