Our story
Family owned, professionally run.
Boonma and Soune started it in 1991. The next generation runs it today — a disciplined operation built to get the right parts to resellers across Australia.
How Boonma began

In 1991, Boonma and Soune started the business from their garage in Fairfield. They didn't come from a big parts company or have a business plan worked out. They just wanted to build something of their own and were prepared to work hard to make it happen. Boonma (mum) was the entrepreneur. She was always looking for an opportunity and wasn't afraid to give something a go. Soune (dad) was the tradesman — a handyman who had worked in a parts store and as a tool setter, and who knew his way around parts. They had come to Australia as refugees in 1978 with very little, so they knew what it meant to start from scratch.
They built Boonma the only way they knew how — one order at a time, and one relationship at a time.
From the beginning, Boonma was a wholesaler, not a shopfront — supplying resellers who sold on to mechanics, workshops and the public.
The range started with seven part numbers, all CV joints. One of their first resellers suggested they look at engine mounts. They took the advice and never looked back.
The idea was simple: have the part in stock, make sure it fits, and price it so the reseller has room to make a margin.
Over the years, that focus has built a pretty deep range. Engine mounts became our specialty and something we've taken a lot of pride in. We're constantly expanding the range because we know that when a customer asks for a part, having it on the shelf can be the difference between getting the sale or losing it.
From there, we built out the other parts our customers regularly need — strut mounts, suspension bushes, hoses, bearings and more.
We've come a long way from that Fairfield garage. Three generations have now been part of Boonma, and ten grandchildren have grown up around the business.
A lot has changed since 1991, but the important things haven't: know your parts, do the job properly, and look after the people who buy from you.
How we run it today
A family business, with a modern way of working.
Boonma is still family-owned, and the family is still involved in the business every day. But as the business has grown, so has the way we run it.
The second generation now leads the day-to-day operation, bringing experience from inside and outside the automotive industry to how we buy, stock and get parts out the door.
The values haven't changed. We've just built better systems around them.
We grow the range around real demand
We don't add parts just to make the catalogue bigger. We look at what's selling, listen to our resellers and use the data to see where the gaps are. That means adding more than 100 new part numbers every quarter, with the range growing where there's genuine demand. James, part of the third generation, leads this work across the range and our growing brands, including Boonma 4x4 and Boonma Plus.
We keep stock where you need it
A big range only helps if the parts are actually in stock. We keep depth across the range, with more than 98% of our part numbers in stock. That means fewer backorders, fewer delays and a better chance of filling your order the first time. We've also built distribution partnerships across Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville and Canberra, keeping stock closer to our customers and getting parts to you sooner.
We work with the way you sell
Not every reseller works the same way. A regional store, a metro parts business and an online reseller all have different customers and different needs. So we don't try to make everyone fit the same model. And while we're helping you sell the parts, we're also investing in the Boonma brand — building demand so the products don't just sit on your shelf.

How we do business
Do the right thing. Build trust. Think long term.
For us, good business isn't complicated. Do what you say you'll do, look after the people you work with, and be there when they need you.
Integrity
We say what we mean and do what we say. That means fair pricing, straight answers and being clear about what a part is and what it fits. We're also a true wholesaler. We supply resellers and don't sell directly to workshops, the trade or the public. We don't want to compete with the businesses that rely on us. Our job is to support them, protect their margin and help them win the sale.
If something goes wrong, we own it and sort it out.
Trust
When a reseller puts a Boonma part on their shelf, they're putting their own reputation behind it too. We understand that. That's why we put so much effort into getting the basics right — quality, fitment and reliable supply. If we say it's in stock, it should be there. If we say it fits, it should fit.
We'd rather earn your trust one order at a time than make a sale we can't stand behind.
Long-term relationships
We're not interested in chasing a sale today if it costs us a customer tomorrow. Many of our resellers have been buying from us for years. That's not because everything always goes perfectly. It's because when there's a problem, we answer the phone, work through it and help find a solution. Sometimes that means being flexible when something's urgent. Other times it means being honest when the answer isn't what someone wants to hear.
We want to be the supplier you're still doing business with years from now.

Operational discipline
Getting the right parts to the right place, at the right time.
Every order matters.
Behind a workshop order is usually a car sitting on a hoist and someone waiting to get it back on the road. They're not thinking about where the part came from. They just want it to turn up so the job can get done.
Getting an order right isn't just a warehouse job. It starts when we answer the phone — identifying the part, checking the fitment and making sure it's in stock. From there, the order has to be processed properly, picked accurately, packed securely and dispatched on time.
None of those things are complicated on their own. The discipline is doing them properly, order after order.
Get those things right and the workshop keeps moving, the reseller keeps their customer happy, and the car gets back on the road.

The people behind it
Meet the team.
Behind every order is a team of people who care about getting it right. From the phones to the office and the warehouse floor, everyone plays their part. These are the people who keep Boonma moving every day.
The family

Soune
Founder & Parts Specialist
Soune co-founded Boonma in 1991 and is still very much involved in the business today. A tradesman at heart, he knows the parts and fitment inside out. He still personally looks after ordering across much of the range, keeping a close eye on what's moving and what needs to be on the shelf. You'll still find him around the business every day, checking stock, talking parts and sharing his knowledge.

Air
Managing Director
Air joined Boonma in 2024 after spending much of his career in the corporate world. While it was the family business, he came into it with fresh eyes — learning the parts industry while bringing a different perspective on how the business could grow and improve. Today, he leads the day-to-day business and where Boonma goes next, with a simple question behind every decision: does this make things better for our resellers? The drive behind Boonma 2.0.

Vanh
Sales & Technical
Vanh looks after sales and all things technical at Boonma. He knows the range inside out and has a good understanding of the resellers we work with and what they need. He's the person the team turns to when there's a fitment question — matching the part to the vehicle and helping make sure we get it right the first time.

Sorn
Accounts & Administration
Sorn looks after accounts and administration, keeping the day-to-day details organised and making sure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly. From invoices and payments to the paperwork that keeps the business moving, she makes sure things are accurate and taken care of. She's also our gentle-but-relentless reminder that an invoice is due — always with a smile, and usually before you've had a chance to forget about it.

James
Business Development Manager
James is the third generation of the family to join Boonma. He looks after business development, helping grow the range and reach of the business, with a focus on Boonma 4x4 and Boonma Plus. A keen four-wheel-driver himself, James knows the 4x4 world from experience and backs the products he'd happily run on his own rig.

Sean
Front Line Sales
Sean is one of the first people you'll speak to at Boonma and is always happy to take your call. He looks after front-line sales, helping customers find the right part, check fitment and get their orders sorted. Whether you need to check a price, find out what's in stock or work through a problem, Sean is there to help.

David
Front Line Sales
David works alongside Sean on front-line sales, helping customers with parts, fitment, pricing and availability. The two work closely as a team and between them, the phone rarely gets a chance to ring more than twice.

Jodie
Sales Operations
Jodie keeps things moving once an order is placed, looking after invoices, credits, freight and all the details in between. She makes sure orders are processed accurately and get out the door on time, without any fuss. When she's not doing that, you'll find her on the pickleball court — quick on her feet there too.

Romario
Warehouse Manager
Romario looks after the warehouse and keeps orders moving from picking through to dispatch. He makes sure orders are picked accurately, packed properly and out the door on time. He also leads and supports the warehouse team, keeping the daily workload moving when things get busy.

Vannaret
Storeman
Vannaret looks after picking and packing, but a big part of his role is keeping track of inventory across our three warehouses — moving stock where it's needed and making sure the shelves stay full. By keeping stock organised and in the right place, he helps the team get orders out quickly and keeps the warehouse running smoothly.

Dominic
Warehouse & Business Development
Dominic works across both the warehouse and business development, helping wherever he's needed. When things get busy, you'll find him on the warehouse floor helping with picking and packing and keeping orders moving. He also works alongside James on business development, helping research and source new parts for the range.

Sam
Warehouse Associate
Sam is one of the newer members of the Boonma team, working on the warehouse floor to keep orders moving. He looks after accurate picking and packing while making sure the shelves stay stocked and ready for the next order. Outside of work, Sam is a big football fan — so there's a good chance the game will come up in conversation.
Boonma may be family owned and family run, but it takes more than family to make it work. The people you see here are the ones answering the phones, looking after the details, getting orders out the door and keeping the business moving every day.
